Processors and Sub-processors

In certain instances, HelloCrowd, Inc. (“HelloCrowd”), as a provider of cloud-based services, may act as a data processor, i.e., the entity that processes personal data on behalf of data controllers and acts on the instructions of the data controllers. As a data processor, HelloCrowd may appoint third-party data processors (“Subprocessors”) for the services provided through the following platforms (the “Services”):
- The online platform “Events by HelloCrowd” available at https://www.hellocrowd.net (“EVENTS”);
- The online platform “Hire by HelloCrowd” available at https://www.hire.science (“HIRE”);
- The online platform “Learn by HelloCrowd” available at [TBA] (“LEARN”); and
- The related software applications.
This page provides important information about the identity, location and role of the authorized Subprocessors. Terms used on this page but not defined have the meaning set forth in the Customer Terms of Service or superseding written agreement between customers and HelloCrowd.

When is HelloCrowd a data processor?
HelloCrowd will act as a data processor in the situations when a customer of HelloCrowd (the “Customer”) concludes a service contract with HelloCrowd on the basis of the Customer Terms of Service and submits data to the Services, including the Customer Data. For example, if the Customer registers on HIRE as an organization that is looking for employees, the customer can select what types of personal data should be collected from potential employees. In such situations, the Customer acts as a data controller, whereas HelloCrowd acts as a data processor.
To support delivery of the Services, HelloCrowd may engage and use Subprocessors who may have access to the personal data of the Customers, including the Customer Data. When engaging Subprocessors, HelloCrowd will comply with the requirements of the applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). HelloCrowd shall not be engage Subprocessors without obtaining prior authorization from respective data controllers. Moreover, prior to engaging any Subprocessors, HelloCrowd performs diligence to evaluate their privacy, security and confidentiality practices, and executes an agreement implementing its applicable obligations.
Subprocessors may be engaged for the following purposes:
- To provide infrastructure necessary for delivering the Services;
- To provide technical and operational assistance with regard to the Services;
- To provide customer support services;
- To provide email distribution services; and
- To support the Services and the business activities of HelloCrowd.
